True Love
It has been said that true love is a lifeboat, a salvation in life’s tempests. As humanity’s seas bring you mild breezes, chilling rains, and horrendous storms, you will stay afloat no matter how the seas rage around you. You will not sink during crushing defeats, you will not capsize as all but your great love turn against you, and you will not be drowned by circumstances beyond your control. I’ve been adrift for twenty-two days now, probably several hundred miles off the coast of Chile or Peru, hungry, thirsty, sunburnt, and this metaphor is of no value to me.
